Yongnuo ST-E2 clone “coming soon”, plus YN EX flashes?

Hong Kong Yong Nuo Photographic Equipment have officially announced their knock-off version of the Canon ST-E2 Wireless Speedlite Transmitter is “coming soon” with the following features (translated from Chinese):

1. Wireless TTL flash control
2.25 m AF assist lamp
3. Support the exposure compensation FEC
4. Support Exposure Bracketing FEB
5. Support flash imaging depth of field preview
6. Fuselage rotating
7. To support four wireless channels
8. Light synchronization options than the control
9. Support 580 EX 430EX
10. Support YongNuo EX series flash

Notice feature number 10 in the list: “Support YongNuo EX series flash”. Does this mean Yongnuo are making slave flashes compatible with Canon’s infrared wireless E-TTL system?

UPDATE from Yongnuo:

We do will have a model EX flahes to come next year.

    I’m pretty sure H (with flash) means that because everywhere else canon uses the same logo. :-)

    CONFIRMED: Yongnuo’s EX flashes will come out “next year”.

    This system is IR based, just a clone of the Canon with all the same limitations and problems. Dated technology, IMO.

    any idea how much these things will cost? ive always wanted an ST-E2 but the price put me off…

    It’s selling on some online resellers now.
    about US$139.99 + US$4 for shipping on eBay.
    However, I bought one from another site (not on eBay). Cheaper to go for…not bad…quite reliable.
