Now, voice-activated light stands (i.e. assistants carrying flashes) can use the Lastolite Brolly Grip for easier hand-holding of umbrellas. The device incorporates an ergonomic handle, umbrella hole and coldshoe mount, which holds the flashgun parallel with the umbrella shaft.

Photographers can have an assistant carry it, or hold their camera in one hand and the Brolly Grip in the other. Lastolite say “The Brolly Grip is the ultimate light modifier for the photographer who needs to be mobile”.

Available now, the Brolly Grip costs £20, or £30 as a kit including a shoot-through umbrella. Check Lastolite dealers for details.
