Following announcement of the full specs, the Canon Speedlite EL-1 has now become available to pre-order online.
B&H Photo has the EL-1 listed for $1099, over twice the price of the previous Canon flagship, the 600EX II-RT (currently $499). In fact, after the Profoto A10, it’s the most expensive shoe-mount camera flash you can buy at the moment.
If you are baulking at that price, take solace at least in that it comes bundled with various accessories, including a lithium battery and charger, bounce diffuser, two clip-on colour filters and a soft protective carry case.
