Elinchrom has unveiled a number of new lighting gadgets for the Photokina trade show this year. As well as the previously-announced ELC Pro HD flash heads, the Swiss manufacturer has introduced a new series of Litemotiv softboxes, a fresnel, three kit cases and some accessories for the Quadra location lighting system.
The Litemotiv series, described as “the parabolic extension to the Rotalux Deep Octa”, are a pair of sixteen-sided softboxes, with 120cm and190cm diameter options. You can use it like a softbox, or with a deflector mounted in the centre, as a giant folding ‘beauty dish’-type modifier.
Less foldable is the new Elinchrom FS30 Fresnel Spot, which can apparently mount on any Elinchrom head made since 1972 and offers a 20° to 45° variable beam angle. The company has fashion and beauty photographers in mind for this bit of kit.
Other announcements include an updated, stronger version of the Quadra-to-EL mount adapter, called the Quadra Reflector Adapter MK-II, the ProTec Trolley Bag and a Quadra Protective Cap.
Visit the Elinchrom web site for more information or see them at stand H009/I010, Hall 4.1 in Cologne this week. For more new releases, check our regularly-updated Photokina 2014 lighting guide.
