UKphotodistro has announced that it is now carrying GamiLight-brand photographic accessories in the United Kingdom. GamiLights are lightweight, plastic speedlight modifiers that fold flat.
They come in a number of shapes and sizes including the Square 43Â and Box 21 softboxes, Event Pro bounce card and Spot 2 snoot.
Unlike traditional light-shaping tools, which are typically made of a mixture of fabric sheets and metal rods and brackets, GamiLights are much lighter and take up less space in a lighting gear bag. They are formed by cleverly folding and slotting together the components and securing them with press-studs, then (in the case of the softboxes) fitting the diffusion panel over the front.
Thanks to their light weight, a big bracket is not needed to mount them on a speedlight, and instead they use a proprietary friction grip. They are primarily designed for the travelling location photographer. You won’t fit these on a studio head but you can use them creatively to get professional-looking results.
