It’s nice when companies name their products sensibly. Godox have a new flash head called the Quicker 600. What’s special about it? It’s got quicker flash durations than a normal studio lights.
The Quicker was originally shown at last year’s Interphoto Shanghai trade fair, but it must have been a prototype because we didn’t hear any more about it until this year. Now it looks like it’s ready for market, as Godox have listed the technical specifications on their web site.
Boasting flash durations as quick as 1/5000 second, this new studio flash should be well-suited for fast action photography. On the manufacturer’s product page they have demonstrated its ability to freeze shots of water splashes. As well as the short pulse, the recycle time is quite speedy too: just 1.2 seconds to recharge from a full power pop.
