We are pleased to reveal the winner of our March photography competition. The theme was “hard light” and we got an excellent variety of submissions, which you can view here and here. But there could be only one winner.
The Lighting Rumours staff judges (Robb & I) selected the Kristjan Järv’s entry as most deserving of the prize, a Jinbei MF-100 bare-bulb flash.
Kristjan used two Yongnuo YN560-IIs to light his compelling action shot, which is both dramatic and brilliantly composed, with a fine blend of flash and ambient.
An honourable mention goes to runner-up Ulysses Segatto with this fantastic multi-light period portrait:
