Missed the iblazr crowd-funding project? Not to worry, you can get your hands on one without being a backer, as the company has opened up pre-orders for the product.

Priced $49, or $67 for the Premium model, the iblazr is an external LED that you plug into an iPhone or Android phone. It synchronises with the camera shutter (or can run continuously as a video lamp) and can even adjust its brightness using signals from the headphone jack.

According to the manufacturer, the iblazr’s built-in battery will last for 1000 flashes. The flash has a beam angle of 60° and a 5600K daylight colour output. Settings are adjusted via a free app from the App Store or Google Play. Should you want to use it off-camera/phone/pad you can use a standard 3.5mm audio cable to retain the connection.

The estimated shipping date will be early next year, at which point the prices rise to their full RRP of $65 and $80 for the regular and premium editions respectively. Click here to pre-order or for more details.
