Rift Labs, a US-based startup, has announced that its crowd-funded Kick LED lights are now shipping to customers. The first batch (of 1500 units) will go out to the various backers of the project who supported it on Kickstarter.

The Kick is an compact battery-powered light panel featuring an array of RGB light-emitting diodes (LEDs) able to simulate almost any colour in the visible spectrum, controlled over WiFi with a dedicated iPhone app. Firmware updates to the device can be added via USB, the company says.
