Manfrotto Lighting has announced the Lastolite Strobo Starter Kits, “designed to introduce photographers to the Lastolite Strobo system of light modifying products”. Strobo is the name given to a series of portable bits and bobs from Lastolite that you can put on the front of a hotshoe flashgun to change the spread, colour or quality of its light output.
The Starter Kits can include honeycomb grids, barndoors, colour correction gels and mounting brackets to fit an Ezybox Hotshoe softbox. You can also buy these accessories separately from the kits.
According to Lastolite: “These starter kits are stripped down versions of the original Strobo Ezybox Hotshoe and Strobo Direct to Flash kits. Now the photographer can enter the Strobo system from a different direction, whether it’s via honeycombs, gels or barn doors.”
Strobo Starter Kits start at around £35.00 for the “Direct to Flash” sets, ramping up to £150 or more for a fully working Ezybox Hotshoe Plate series set, since the latter requires a £105 plate accessory. For more information, visit lastolite.com.
