The people behind Lume Cube, a miniature LED light for mobile photo and video lighting, have announced another Kickstarter project.

The Life Lite (or Līfe Līte, as the creators want you to call it) is a similar idea to the Lume Cube, but half the size and fully waterproof. It puts out up to 1000 lumens of daylight-balanced light, which you can adjust from 0–100% via a Bluetooth-connected smartphone app for Android and iOS.

Lume Cube is aiming this new product at “mobile content creators” and claims the Life Lite “will change the future of mobile content creation forever”.

According to the makers, the Life Lite is waterproof to 10 metres and provides “studio quality light” (CRI 80; 350 lux at 1 m) for half an hour at full power. There are ten brightness settings. It charges its internal (non-replaceable) Li-ion battery via micro-USB.

Priced $39, the project has already well surpassed its $33,000 crowd-funding goal by five times thanks to over 2,000 investors. Stretch goals and perks include smartphone mounts, GoPro adapters and clips to attach the light to your backpack or clothing.
