Multiblitz has changed the name of its Profilux compact flash series to Profilite and introduced a new LED photo/video lamp called the V6.

The Multiblitz V6, controlled from an external power pack, is a monobloc-style LED that accepts normal Multiblitz P-type accessories. The company claims an output of 6000 lumens, making it equivalent to a 650W halogen lamp while consuming a fraction of the power. The colour balance is 4000K β€” slightly warm β€” which Multiblitz reckons is “especially tailored to skin tones and natural daylight”. Universal voltage (90–260V) and support for the Multiblitz Propac battery pack (150 minutes at full power) make the V6 reasonably portable for location photographers and videographers.

The Profilite (250/500J) replace the Profilux Eco. The newer flash has a wider power control range: now six stops. Profilite Plus is a line containing three models β€” the Profilux Plus 2, 4 and 8. They have eight, eight and nine-stop power ranges, respectively, offer universal voltage support (90–260V) and can be powered from Multiblitz’s Propac battery packs.

Profilites start at €543, the Profilite Pluses begin at €617 and the V6 will sell for €560. Find Multiblitz on stand B043, Hall 4.1 at Photokina this week where they will be exhibiting the new V6 lamp. For more technical information, visit the manufacturer’s web site.
