Nanlite FS200 LED is a poor man’s Forza 200

New FS-series LED monolight is half the price, if you can do without DC power and DMX support.

Nanlite FS200

Chinese manufacturer Nanguang has introduced the Nanlite FS200, a ‘more affordable version’ of their Forza 200 LED monolight.

To keep costs down, the FS200 is mains-powered only and does not have DMX control. It’s aimed at ‘studio-based’ stills and video shooters.

Otherwise it is a similar basic design to the Forza 200: a Bowens-mount monolight-style head with a yoke mount and a grab handle on the back. The LED itself has been changed from a single chip to a matrix-style array. This allows the manufacturer to offer this lower-tier lamp at half the price of the equivalent Forza model.

More budget-focussed FS-series lights will follow.

Pre-order the Nanlite FS200 for $369 from B&H.
