PocketWizard’s latest Plus IV radio trigger is expected to go on sale on Monday 7 March, priced $153.
The Plus IV is PocketWizard’s first manual flash trigger to feature a hotshoe, allowing you to use it with speedlights without cables or an adapter, and thanks to TTL pass-through you can stack a Plus IV and a TTL flashgun on your camera’s hotshoe at the same time without losing functionality. According to the manufacturer, “its top shoe provides on-camera TTL compatibility with most Canon, Nikon and Panasonic cameras and flashes”. It was announced back in October.
It has wireless grouping, an LCD screen and backwards compatibility with all of PocketWizard’s range of radio triggers. To extend range and shoot in difficult environments, special “Long Range” and “Repeater” modes are built in.
B&H Photo, the New York photography retailer, is accepting pre-orders on their web site.
Update 8/3/2016: The Plus IV is now shipping. In the UK you can find it at The Flash Centre for £150 per transceiver.
