British studio lighting specialists Elemental have indicated that they are in the process of making a power pack for AC monolights, allowing you to use their (and any other brand’s) studio lights on location. This would provide the UK with something similar to the Alien Bees Vagabond and Tronix Explorer, both of which can only be imported.
We’re currently developing a mobile battery unit that can power all of our lights. It won;t have a control panel – you’ll need to use the panel already on the flash head, but it will provide continuous AC Power over a respectable duration.
Release date?
The battery pack won’t be available until probably late 2010.
