Quantum Instruments, manufacturer of Qflashes and Turbo battery packs, is under new ownership.
The New York-based company was sold to Promark International, of Bartlett, Illinois. Promark already owns many other American photographic brands including Photogenic, Norman, Speedotron, Smith Victor and Cool-Lux.
“PROMARK will take over with immediate effect the development, manufacture and supply of Quantum products and services,” they said in a statement. “New product enhancements and onward development of Quantum’s existing product line can be expected.
“The acquisition blends the extensive manufacturing capabilities and excellent marketing reach of PROMARK with the highly advanced technical expertise of Quantum Instruments. For the next few months, until further notice, shipping and service will continue from Quantum’s location in Hauppauge, NY.”
Quantum has recently moved into video lighting with their Omicron series of LED ring lights.
