Korean accessory manufacturer SMDV has introduced the Alpha Speedbox series of quick-folding softboxes for studio lights.
The dodecagonal (12-sided) Alpha Speedboxes are available now in 80cm, 90cm, 100cm and 110cm sizes, with mounting options including Alien Bees, Bowens, Elinchrom and Profoto.
Each softbox features SMDV’s patented (now aluminium and easier to operate) speed-ring, which is heat-resistant, and the manufacturer says allows the Alpha Speedboxes to be assembled and folded in seconds.
The 110cm (44-inch) Alpha Speedbox is listed by authorized seller Legio Aerium on Amazon for $309.99. The smaller ones are cheaper. For more information, visit SMDV-USA.com.
