Phottix Foton

Phottix FotonHong Kong: Photographic accessory manufacturer Phottix have hinted at a couple of previously-unseen(?) new products at the Hong Kong Computer & Communications Festival 2010:

What will Team Phottix be showing off? The uber-popular Phottix Atlas Wireless Flash Trigger and the new Phottix Strato 4 in 1 triggers will be available for off-camera flash enthusiasts to purchase.  The recently released Phottix P200 Light Stand and Phottix Varos Umbrella Holder will also be available.

And, a special new product. Two actually-  Products that will light up your photographic life. We won’t spill the beans yet, you need to come to the HKCCF and visit with Team Phottix.

The heavy hint and shameless pun suggests some sort of studio gear, likely a flashgun or studio light, and a related accessory. Could the Phottix Foton UB-88 flashgun be approaching release? Or something more mysterious?

Here are some Foton-related links for your reference (NB: The specifications have probably changed or improved since these articles were written):

The Atlas, Strato, P200 and Varos are already available to buy online from the Phottix Store. The Strato is listed as “out of stock” but the manufacturer promises to be shipping orders within two weeks.

If you’re in Hong Kong, Phottix will be stationed in Hall 1 of the Exhibition Centre at booths AC12 and AC14 during the festival, which runs from 20th-22nd August.
