You thought your 5-in-1 reflector was versatile? Meet the Omega, a 10-in-1 reflector that features a removable center panel which can be used to shoot through. It is manufactured by Westcott and designed by photographer Jerry Ghionis. Like conventional 5-in-1 reflectors it features a diffusion fabric as the frame and white, silver, sunlight, and black coverings, but now the center can be removed for each mode, thus meaning the Omega indeed has 10 uses.
The removable center panel means you can shoot though the reflector or white diffuser, giving a kind of ring-flash look. When used as a diffuser the reflector can be used to use a single light source as both main and back light, possibly great for those ‘backlit dreamy’ shots.
Using a twist-and-fold technique that is also found at other diffusers the Omega can be packed in a small bag, which can be carried with a shoulder strap. The Omega can be purchased for $100 from B&H and it is in stock now.
